It was a bit of a washout at last night's village BBQ but a few stalwarts came and tried to score past Carl and Steve. Each successful penalty taker was given a ticket to win one of our Champion's League footballs or our Coca Cola football.

Our intention was for the prize to be a signed England football but it now appears that we've been ripped off by a dubious eBayer. They've simply decided to take our money and run.
Instead we've got an Adult and a Junior size ADIDAS Finale UEFA Champions League football up for grabs. Come and have a go!
A big thank-you to all who took part in our beat the keeper at Hayfield Cricket Club's 150th Anniversary. Between Carl, Steve and Peter we faced well over 300 penalties (felt like a thousand!) and we raised over £100 for the Junior Football Club.
The highlight of the day was our vicar, Hilary Edgerton, showing some grit and determination to whack one past Peter with just bare feet. The foot of God, or perhaps Eggy's comeuppance, one might say.
Thanks for Hayfield CC for accommodating us and thanks for every one who had a bash. We'll be doing it again at the village BBQ at the school on Friday 17th July. We hope to see you there.
Hayfield Cricket Club celebrate their 150th anniversary this Sunday (28th June) with a family fun day.
Steve, Carl and hopefully a few helpers will be raising money for both the Junior Football Club and the Cricket Club with a penalty shoot-out. Successful penalty takers will be entered into a draw to win a Ryan Giggs signed Man Utd shirt (08/09).
The fun starts at 1:00pm, we hope to see everyone there
