Hayfield U12's just keep matching on!!!
Hayfield made a flying start against Hazel Grove when Dan Soles scored with only minutes on the clock. Soles then turned provider with some classic wing play, not only to embarrass his marker but then to produce a pin-point cross for Anthony Thorp to score with a bullet diving header to make it 2-0.
Some resolute defending and very good goalkeeping kept Hazel Grove at bay and ensured Hayfield reached half-time 2 goals to the good.
Josh Harwood struck seconds into the second half with a very well constructed goal making it 3-0 before Hazel Grove struck on the break to make it 3-1
However, Hayfield re-grouped and Harwood restored the 3 goal advantage with another fine strike and then minutes late Joe Brooks scored with a fine low drive.
Another great performance by Hayfield, showing that they are getting better and stronger with each game.

Hayfield Juniors U12s 5 Hattersley 4
This was going to be Hayfields toughest game so far this season as they were playing a team 2 divisions above them.
Hattersley came out on top in the first half, putting away their chances to lead 3-1 at half time with Joe Brooks firing in Hayfields only goal.
Early in the second half Hattersley increased their lead to 4-1.
Isaac young started Hayfields fight back with 2 goals before Archie Critchlow played a great through ball to Dan Soles who leveled the game.
With just 30 seconds left and extra time looming Kane Marshall broke free and cooly slotted home the game winner in a truly memorable Hayfield victory.
I felt like doing a José Mourinho (at Old Trafford) so I did!

Cup Final Woes for Hayfield Girls
Hayfield Girls U12 0 - 2 Hilton Girls U12
Hayfield lost the Derbyshire Girls and Ladies Under 12’s cup final being beaten 2-0 by a well organised Hilton Girls team.
Playing on a larger pitch at Matlock Town, Hayfield were never allowed to settle into their normal game and can look back at a series of missed chances which on another day would have been taken. In the first half Masie Goddard made several excellent saves, including a goal-line scramble to keep the scores even.
The second half started with Hilton hitting the post before their captain scored from a low drilled in corner. Hayfield pushed forward with an Alice Rayson header being deflected past the keeper and just failing to get a shot in from a corner with the goal begging. Hilton’s decisive goal came when another corner was only half cleared and the winger turned with a shot that went in off the far post.
Hayfield pressed until the final whistle with shots from Annabelle Wilde and Lily Conway but could not find a way past the keeper. Despite the defeat, manager Paul Vandermotten can be proud of the clubs first season and the contributions made from all the players: Georgia Bull, Lily Conway, Maisie Goddard, Telesha Griffiths, Maya Lancaster, Charlotte Peacock, Megan Pritchard, Alice Rayson, Sophie Rayson, Amy Vandermotten, Lydia Waterhouse and Annabelle Wilde.

Magnificent Maisie in Cup Win for Hayfield
Hayfield Girls U12’s 2 - 0 Wirksworth Colts Girls U12’s
Hayfield won the North Derbyshire Girls Under 12 Cup final with a hard fought 2-0 victory over a very spirited and determined Wirksworth side.
Hayfield started the brighter forcing 3 corners in the first 5 minutes with Amy Vandermotten having a shot tipped over by the Wirksworth keeper. The game became more even and play flowed from end to end on a difficult hard bouncy surface making ball control difficult. Hayfield took the lead when an Alice Rayson throw-in found twin sister Sophie who beat the keeper to a 50:50 ball before firing home.
The turning point of the game came when Wirksworth were awarded a penalty which saw Maisie Goddard save a full blooded shot and then beat away the re-bound before the ball was scrambled away.
The second half was a tense affair but the game was settled when once again from an Alice Rayson throw-in Maya Lancaster back-flicked the ball home past a static Wirksworth defence (a la Gianfranco Zola).
Solid performances at the back from Telesha Griffiths and Sophie Rayson in front of Lydia Waterhouse helped by midfield players Georgia Bull, Annabelle Wilde and Megan Pritchard ensured Hayfield held on to win the Cup 2-0.
In their first season, manager Paul Vandermootten has assembled a side who have delivered silverware.
