New Club Sponsor

We are delighted to announce that for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons we have a new club sponsor, Jeremy Unsworth. Jeremy has sponsored a number of our teams over the past ten seasons and has been a great advocate and friend to our club.

Club Chairman, Peter Easter, said "we'd like to thank Jeremy for his ongoing support. It's only with the help of local businesses and our community partners that we're able to provide the coaching and factilities that we provide." Jeremy Unsworth

Water Bottles Sponsor - The Flower Fox

We're delighted to announce that The Flower Fox in Hayfield have sponsored and provided water bottles for all of our members. Due to the current health crisis it is really important that the children do not share water bottles so it is a very timely and kind gesture.

Some words from our sponsors

“The Flower Fox” are a recently opened (11 weeks ago), independent flower shop run by husband and wife team Darren and Naomi Greaves right here in Hayfield in the High Peak.

We love all things floral and plants alike, we try to run our small business as sustainable as possible using floral techniques that are foam free (foam is non biodegradable, toxic for both humans and animals and not recyclable) so we use chicken wire, moss, twine, water tubes, all our bouquets are wrapped in either paper or hessian come with a 100% biodegradable water source no cellophane or Sellotape we use paper tape.

This is why we wanted to get involved and help to sponsor our local Hayfield Junior Football Club so that they would be able to get the chance to each get their own reusable biodegradable sports drink bottles instead of keep buying and then throwing away numerous other bottles and try to keep the waste management down.

The Flower Fox is on Market Street in Hayfield. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. You can also buy online from their website: www.theflowerfox.co.uk.

Golf Day Raises £1200

The football club held its first ever golf day last week at New Mills Golf Course. Over 80 golfers came together to enjoy the course's spectacular views and challenging holes on what was a barmy late summer's day.

Over £1200 was raised and the club would like to thank Callum Clarke and Alan Peatfield for organising the event along with Sam Shaw from NMGC.

It's a Sign...!

Our new sign has just been installed at Bank Vale and it looks wonderful. Thank you, as ever, to Jane for organising this and also to Andy at the PC for making sure we weren’t going to upset anyone by putting it there!

Also, to everyone who has helped raise money these last few weeks and in particular to Bob Heaps who has managed to persuade his employer, HSBC, to invest £1000 in us.

To Wembley and Back!

To help ease Coronavirus boredom and to raise some much needed funds for our clubhouse project we're challenging all teams and all players to help us complete a run to Wembley and back (560Km / 350 miles).

Essentially it's a sponsored run (or walk if you prefer) and there are prizes for:

  • First Prize (for the player raising the most sponsorship)
Free membership (i.e. no subs) for the 20/21 season

  • Runners-up Prizes (for the player in each team running the furthest)
An official Hayfield FC scarf + an Adidas football

The challenge runs for a month from 15th June until 15th July and we want to track everyone's progress using the challenge on the Nike Run Club app.

For details of how to get signed up just download our sponsorship form here.

Suspension of all Grassroots Football

Sadly, but inevitably, all grassroots football has been suspended by the Football Association. All leagues that we participate in have suspended fixtures, all training has ceased and as such Hayfield Football & Community Sports Club is now in hibernation.

At this time we aren't certain if league fixtures will be able to resume. We will keep all members posted here and on social media channels when anything changes.

Unfortunately this also means that our Quiz and Curry Night planned for the 27th March is also postponed. We're hoping to re-arrange that for September and all tickets sold will be valid for the re-arranged event. If you have a ticket and would like a refund please contact the club.

However, it's not all doom and gloom...

Hayfield FC v Neil Baldwin FC

A huge thank you to everyone who came to see our adult team take on Neil Baldwin FC at Silverlands this weekend. Thanks to Eric and Joe for manning the turnstile and flogging scarves. To Pete C and Pete L and all the lads who played. To Neil Baldwin (Nello) and his team for travelling over from Stoke and an especially big thank you to Dave Brownsword who organised the whole thing.

The event was sponsored by Jeremy Unsworth, Thorneycroft Solicitors and Egerton’s and they’ve helped us raise close to a thousand pounds to be shared between Hayfield FC and the Macari Foundation.

Bob Heaps / HSBC

Many of you will know Bob as the coach of our Under 9s. Bob works for HSBC, they have a yearly Pound for Pound scheme which supports charitable fundraising and volunteering activities by donating a matching amount to your charity. Bob in his coaching role, submitted his hours he volunteered throughout 2019 and from that HSBC have very kindly donated £1,000 to the Club. Hopefully this can become a yearly donation that will really help towards the fundraising for the new clubhouse and pitches at Bank Vale.

Hayfield Country Show and Sheepdog Trials

Last week the Club received £1,500 from the Hayfield show committee to help us with our clubhouse planning application. I’ve attached some pictures of what we’re hoping for! An enormous thank you to the show’s committee who have been hugely supportive of the club since the very beginning.

All of the work on our planning application has been carried out, without charge, by John McCall. A big thank you to John.

New Season - 2019/20 Subs

Season 19/20 is just around the corner. We’ve got twelve teams this season and have finally met one of our prime objectives which was to bring back open-age (i.e. adult) football to Hayfield.

Coaches will be in touch regarding resumption of training and the season’s opening matches.

Subs for the season are as follows:

  • Individual Membership: £144 (£12 per month)
  • Family Membership: £228 (£19 per month)
  • We are also introducing a signing-on fee of £25 per player – payable with the first month’s instalment

We’re providing new kit for all players this season which we expect to be returned at the end of the season or should a player leave the club. We’re also providing a mid-layer training top (like this) which will have the players initials as well as the club badge and team sponsor’s logo. This is yours to keep and we’d encourage the kids to wear them as much as possible to help advertise their sponsors (more on them to come).

Until the first instalment and signing-on fee have been paid, no kit or training wear will be issued to players. Sadly we have had issues in the past where player registrations have gone under the club’s radar and as we’re spending a significant amount on new kit we want to make sure everyone is properly signed up. That said if our membership fees do present a problem for your family please do get in touch. We will not prevent any child playing for us because of financial hardship.

In the next couple of days you will receive an email from LoveAdmin, our subs system, with details of the first payment. You can choose to pay in full or monthly. If you want to pay by cheque or BACS transfer just let us know and we’ll arrange that for you. If you set up a pre-authorised direct debit then the first instalment will be taken automatically. If you don’t want this to happen you should log in now and change your preferences (https://app.loveadmin.com/sign-in).

We can Gift Aid some of the payments you make to us (e.g. signing on fee). When you log in to your LoveAdmin account I’d be grateful if you would untick the Gift Aid box if you do not pay UK tax. That way we can make sure our Gift Aid claim is accurate when we do it.
